Remote Learning Resources

How are we providing Remote Learning?

From 5th January 2021 in line with the nationwide lock down we are providing remote learning for all children at Southmere Primary Academy.

Our remote learning offer provides a range of opportunites for children to continue their learning whilst not in school.

We are providing a full day of timetabled learning that includes:

  • Live lessons delivered on Zoom
  • An online learning platform-Class Dojo-where all Zoom links and follow up activities are posted
  • Individual learning opportunities posted in children's Class Dojo portfolios
  • Pre-recorded videos
  • Online reading activities through the online platforms-Bug Club and Reading Plus
  • Timestables practise through the online platform-Timestables Rockstars
  • Paper based activities where requested by parents

We are also providing all stationary, including exervise books, pencils, rubbers, pencil sharpeners, whiteboards and pens and anything else that children may need. If you need access to any of the online platforms used by school please contact us for passwords.

If you require a device or access to the internet for your child please contact school so that we can endeavour to help you.

Virtual Swap Shop

Children have been working so hard online and we want to make sure they continue to be rewarded and encouraged for their fantastic efforts.

We have developed the Virtual Swap Shop so that children can continue to swap their Class Dojo points for prizes in Virtual Swap Shop Zooms.

Every child was given the chance to visit Mrs Binns in the Swap Shop on Zoom in the week before February half term.

Virtual Art Lessons

We have had such huge success with developing our art curriculum this year and wanted to make sure that this journey could continue for all children.

Therefore after February half term each child will recieve an at home art pack and lessons supported by our art consultant Emma Bairstow will continue.

Parent Feedback

We want to ensure that we are supporting our chidlren and families during this difficult time and therefore feedback from parents is vital to ensure we get things right. Here are the results of our recent survey into Remote Learning Provision.
